Circular Fashion Partnership Officially Launched

The official launch of the Circular Fashion Partnership marks a pivotal moment in the global transition toward circular textile systems. Bringing together over 30 founding members — including major global brands, leading garment manufacturers, and specialist NGOs — the CFP represents the most ambitious multi-stakeholder initiative to date specifically focused on building circular textile infrastructure in garment-producing countries.

The CFP's founding premise is straightforward: circular economy ambitions set in brand headquarters in Europe and North America can only be realised through systemic change in the factories, waste handlers, and recyclers operating in production countries. Building circular systems in Bangladesh, India, Pakistan, and similar sourcing destinations requires investment, technical assistance, and market linkages that no single actor can provide alone.

The CFP operates through three interconnected workstreams. The first focuses on waste mapping and data infrastructure — deploying digital tools that document production waste at the factory level, creating the data foundation on which circular supply chains can be built. The second focuses on recycler market development — connecting locally collected and sorted waste streams to recycler buyers willing to pay premium prices for traceable, quality-documented material. The third focuses on policy advocacy — engaging governments and standard-setting bodies in production countries to create regulatory frameworks supportive of circular textile systems.

Reverse Resources serves as the technical platform partner for the CFP's data and traceability workstream, providing the digital infrastructure through which waste flow documentation is captured, stored, and shared across the partnership network. This role reflects our core conviction that platform infrastructure is the enabling layer on which all other circular economy interventions depend.

The launch represents the culmination of two years of dialogue, governance design, and pilot programming — and the beginning of what we hope will be a decade-long transformation of how production country textile waste is managed and valued.
